About Us:

We are a women-led arts collective based in Melbourne, passionate about transforming the forgotten and discarded into vibrant works of art. Our mission is to empower women and non-binary-identifying individuals to learn new skills, break down barriers, and create a community built on creativity, camaraderie, and self-expression. You might already know us for our work on Sparky, the once-forgotten electric utility vehicle that we lovingly learned how to restore and turned into a magical rainbow art car, thanks to the support of Melburners and Common Arts Victoria.

Our Next Mission: The Mothership

Our new project is bigger and bolder. We want to transform a 1947 Leyland PD2 double-decker bus, lovingly dubbed the Mothership, into "The Womb"—an immersive audio-visual sensory experience designed to take you back to the ultimate place of safety and creation. Imagine stepping into a sanctuary where you can reconnect with your innermost self, reflecting on what it might feel like to be in your mother's womb.

Transforming her into the womb is going to be a long process, so until then, The Mothership will serve as a creative hub and meeting place for our collective. We’ll host workshops, events, and collaborative art sessions at her new home in the courtyard of Retropolis in Preston, making it a space where ideas come to life, and creativity knows no bounds. 

Presented by RETROPOLIS, Fantastica Events and The Lindy Charm School, get ready for a day and night of pure elegance, extravagance and theatre, spanning The Roaring '20s to the gloriously trashy Y2K Years, and up till present day. With best dressed prizes, costume change your evening away, or just dress in your favourite era! You could even come as your dream celeb...

STUDIO 1 - From 2pm starting at the 1920s, our events space will morph into a rocking time machine with DJ’s Swingabilly Ray (QLD) Mr. Doo Wop (Peter Merrett-The Malt Shop Hop, PBS) Emma Peel (Switched On, PBS) Brontesaurus Sex, DJ Viva L’amour (Mel) Mz Rizk (Boogie Beat Suite, PBS) DJ Bella Donna (Mel) ... special guest Celia Bow & more to be announced.

The Gatsby Tram - Our original 1950s Melbourne Tram will be transformed into a special Speakeasy for the night, with shows by Gramophone DJ, Andrew Noltes Golden Gate Quartet, time travelling duo El Ray Miel, and a host of sultry burlesque that will transport you to another place and space.

With a funky bar starring drinks from the eras, photo booths, a food truck & a whole lotta fun, come tickle your vintage tastebuds with us all day & night and celebrate the joy and history of our human expression together!

Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant and rich culture of Mexico as we kick off the night with an opening ceremony! Experience how the Aztecs used to welcome their deceased as this special date arrives. We are conducting the traditional ceremony in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs.

Dress in your finest and prepare for a night filled with Mexican and Latin DJs, live music including MARIACHI, a lively photo booth, a traditional Altar, and an Aztec Shaman ready to cleanse away those bad spirits.

Finally back! Bringing overseas flavors to your favorite city, take a trip to España with us as we present ‘La Feria de Abril’ a la Melbourne style!

This popular Festival in Spain is a major tourist attraction that occurs after Easter and it’s a celebration of lights, culture and dance, come and join us on Saturday 18th March to see how the Spanish party!

A feast for the eyes La Feria Spanish Festival is a moving Festival of roving artists including:
• The intensity and the passion of Flamenco artists, guitarist and bailaoras!
• The jaleo y griterío (the loudness and screaming) of Bulerias!
• The jolgorio (the happiness) by the Sevillanas!
• Being mystified by The Gypsys… we cannot say any more!
• Spend the night in proper Spanish style with real Rumba music!

A fiesta is not a fiesta without good food, vino, cerveza and sangría.

Enjoy a nibble in the tapas style (classic Spanish appetizer or snack) like Paella (real one with NO chorizo and ok… maybe chorizo avail for our Australian and World visitors)
